Things I love about living overseas

I love living in Baku (in case you haven't figured that out yet:))! I love that the world seems so much smaller over here than it is in the USA. Right now we're on Fall Break/Qurban Bayram (feast of the sacrifice). In the last, rather insane, week leading up to break, as teachers would meet in the hall, the question was always the same (just as it is in any other school around the world), "What are you doing for break?" In America most plans might include going to Disney World, staying at home, cleaning the house/garage/basement, going to visit family, etc. For the year I lived in the US, that's how most of my plans went (minus the Disney one :)). In contrast, over here the majority of plans begin with, "We're flying to. . . . [insert name of nearby country]."
For me, I was able to say, "I'm going to . . . . .

Did you figure it out? Ok, so the black-and-white made it a little more difficult. I'm in Turkey! I came with a family who teaches at my school, my Azeri family who aren't Azeri.:)
This is the morning of Day #2 of our adventures. Speaking of adventures, I need to finish getting ready!:)
