SNOW!

   I love snow! It is a matter of great disappointment for me that there was very little snow last year when I lived in Illinois, and this year it seems that everybody and their brother is having feet of snow!:( Add to that the fact that we've had two staff meetings already were extensive time was spent discussing in detail what to do if it snows and school is closed. Add those two things together and wal'la: you get a strong, slightly irrational desire for a snow day!:)
    Well, last week my Dad said yes to some of my prayers, and we got some snow! Right about the time that K and I were walking home from school it started to snow big snow flakes. We had so much fun goofing around and taking pictures (even though not a flake stuck:( ). So I shall share some of our joy with you.

 Ok, so you have to look really closely to see the snowflakes, but they are there!

 And, yes, I am eating the snow (well, at least trying to; I think I only caught one or two flakes)

 Very happy!:)

 The snow did accumulate on my hat (which is now an ever-present fixture on my head when I go out. I'm so glad that I invested in one.)

I met up with J that night to play games and eat chili with friends, and,as you can see, she was happy for snow too.

Then last night it snowed again, and I noticed (as I was slipping and slogging along through the mud and puddles with my pant legs wet to the knees [I'm still working on ways to avoid that occurrence] on my way to the metro) that some of it even stuck to the ground and definitely to the cars! But more about last night I must save for another post. Yesterday was definitely a long yet exciting day!:)
