September Happenings

Wow! Crazy that September is already here! The biggest news in my life is that school has started!!!!!!! I have 11 kids (though I've only actually seen 6 of them so far). Thursday (August 25) was the first day with students. Many, many, many hours of getting my room ready took place before that auspicious date. I wish I had taken a before picture, so that you could see just how far it came. I will confess that there were moments where I wondered if we would have enough desks, if all the piles would find an appropriate resting place, or if the bulletin boards would make it up on the wall. But it all came together in the end!:)

So, we had school Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday, and then we proceeded to be off for the rest of the week. Monday it's back to work. I am so ridiculously excited to be back at school! To the point of being awake in the middle of the night (jetlag), pacing through my house, giddy with excitement while praying for the year and the kids in my class.
What have I done with all this time off? Well. . . some knitting (one purple hat all done!), some cooking (my first chocolate pie made without supervision - definitely with assistance! Thanks, K!),
some cleaning, some dishes, some unit overview planning, some Ticket-to-Riding, some skyping, some visiting, and some shopping (for groceries). Exciting stuff, huh?:)
